All Hallows Eve / Halloween
"Bonfire Night" or "Guy Fawkes Night" Explanation:
Nov 5th, 1605 (I believe) a number of people attempted to assassinate King James 1st of England by renting a cellar below parliament and
(slowly) filling it to the brim with gun powder (aka. "The Gun Powder Plot" , lots of research available) , the attempt was validated by certain people because King James persecuted Catholics, and they wanted him removed from the thrown to establish a more Catholic friendly
government, but some people got nervous as the attempt seemed like it was
going to work......and word got out..... Guy Fawkes among some others was caught in the act of storing barrels of gun powder as the cellar was raided, he was tortured and eventually gave names of others and was eventually drawn and quartered.....
to celebrate Bonfire night, most people will go down by the beach and start a Huge bonfire on Nov 5th (the night Guy Fawkes was caught) to celebrate the attempt (the plot itself), others make straw dolls of Guy Fawkes to burn on the fire as the original holiday was probably created by the King himself as a reminder or something....
